ATHEISM

The Pope says:

Buddhism is in large measure an atheistic system. (p. 86)

Atheism means not believing in God, or more generally, not having any spiritual view. The Pope must never have stepped into any Buddhist temples, which are full of images of belief in Buddha. Even though the Pope has not seen the actual Buddha because of his lack of devotion for Buddha, he must know through the evidence of these images that Buddhists believe in Buddha. Even if the Pope has never entered an actual Buddhist temple, he must at least go to a museum with an Asian cultural exhibit that shows Buddhist images such as paintings, statues, and other spiritual art portraying Buddha which show that others believe in Buddha, and ask a knowledgeable curator, “Why have these images of Buddha happened?” Before the Pope says that Buddhism is atheistic, it would be better for him to consider all the Buddhist objects of veneration which exist in the world which demonstrate that Buddhism is not atheistic. Even though the Pope does not accept Buddha, he still has to accept and consider that there is the word Buddha. That alone shows that Buddhism has an object of faith and focus, which means it is not an atheistic system. It is strange for the Pope to say:
